Staten Island Mall Evacuated Following Fireworks Incident
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There was a scare inside the Staten Island Mall Saturday afternoon after fireworks were set off.
The incident frightened shoppers and prompted false reports of an active shooter.
Police were spotted outside the New Springville complex as people were evacuated.

One woman was cut in the arm during the frantic scene, but her injury wasn't serious.
One mall employee said terrified shoppers ran for cover.
"It was panicky if you ask me," the employee said.
Police said the fireworks went off near the food court.
No arrests have been made as of yet.
