Police: Man In Custody After Woman Stabbed, Son Slashed On Staten Island
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect is in custody after allegedly stabbing a Staten Island woman and cutting her son, police said.
Officials say the suspect was barricaded in a locked apartment on the 7th floor of a residential building at 476 Richmond Terrace early Saturday morning, as police tried frantically to break down the door, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported.
The cops...banging the door down, trying to get in," one resident said.
Once inside, police found a 42-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds and her 11-year-old son with a cut on his hand, according to authorities.
Police believe the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute.
Both victims are expected to recover, according to police.
