Starbucks Unveils New, Limited-Edition Cherry Blossom Frappuccino

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Starbucks is welcoming spring with a new beverage.

The coffee chain has introduced the limited-edition Cherry Blossom Frappuccino. The drink blends strawberries and cream with white chocolate sauce and matcha drizzle, and is topped with whipped cream and green tea powder, the company said.

If that sounds good to you then act fast, the drink will only be available at participating stores until March 20, the first day of spring.

Starbucks said the new drink is inspired by the Japanese tradition of gathering under cherry blossom trees to admire the pink blooms and celebrate the coming of spring.

This is the first time the drink will be available in the U.S. Starbucks stores in Japan have been serving a version of the beverage since 2010.
