NYPD Seeks 3 Women Seen Talking To S.I. Bus Stabbing Suspect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Police are seeking the public's help in identifying three women who spoke with the suspect in the stabbing of a passenger on an MTA bus Tuesday.

The stabbing took place at around 1:45 p.m. when the S74 bus was at the intersection of Broad and Canal Streets in Stapleton.

The 24-year-old victim got into dispute with another man on the bus over a seat, sources told CBS2. The two left the bus, and the victim was attacked on the street, stabbed multiple times in the chest and hand.

"He was like stabbed, like, somewhere in this area — like between, like from his chest and you know, his stomach area. There was a lot of blood. He was, like, gushing out blood," said witness Bobby Ray-Hart.

The suspect took off, along with the three women who were talking with him, police said.

Anybody with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers tipline at (800) 577-TIPS. You can also submit a tip by logging on to the NYPD Crime Stoppers website or by texting a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
