Bruce Springsteen's 'Born To Run' Home Back On Market

LONG BRANCH, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The house where Bruce Springsteen wrote his iconic "Born To Run" album is back on the market.

The two-bedroom Jersey shore cottage in Long Branch is currently owned by three fans of the singer. They purchased the home in 2009 with the idea of turning the home into a tribute to the New Jersey rock legend, but those plans were abandoned.

"Born to Run" celebrated its 40th anniversary on Aug. 25 this year. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie openly praised the album, calling it "the most powerful rock album of my lifetime."

Springsteen has said that he wrote every song on the "Born to Run'' album -- including the title track and other classic songs such as "Thunder Road'' and "Jungleland'' while living in the home from 1974 to 1975.

Springsteen, now 66, is still performing, and delighted Asbury Park fans with a surprise concert in July.

The house does occasionally draw visitors, and the current owners say they try to accommodate the fans.

The home is listed at $299,000.
