4 Men Charged In Connection With Splish Splash BMX Video

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Four men are facing charges for allegedly breaking into a Long Island water park and taking their BMX bikes for a spin on the slides.

A 15-minute video, posted to YouTube by one of the suspects, shows the group jumping the barbed wire fences at Splish Splash in Riverhead on Thanksgiving Day and performing stunts with their BMX bikes all over the water slides.

The video was published on Nov. 27 and has been viewed more than 6 million times at the writing of this post.

Jonathan Nemecek, 25, William Perry, 22, Anthony Panza, 19, and Brian Chliek, 34, are being charged with criminal trespassing and are due in court in January.

The disheartened manager said he just spend hundreds of thousands of dollars resurfacing the rides.

"We're obviously very disappointed and we work very hard to make sure that these rides are safe for our guests each year," General Manager Mike Bengtson said last week. "And now it'll have to be all gone through and reinspected after we had just done that for the winter."

Splish Splash has since ramped up its security to guard against copy cats.

The park is shut down for the season.
