'Barely Alive' Kitten Found Abandoned In Trash On LI, SPCA Says

ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The Nassau County SPCA is looking for a suspect who threw a baby kitten in a garbage bin and placed two full trash bags on top of the animal.

Sanitation workers discovered the kitten while picking up garbage on Nassau Lane in Island Park, Long Island. Officials said the kitten, which is six to seven weeks old, was barely alive when it was discovered.

The kitten was taken to a local animal hospital, where it is currently being nursed back to health, officials said.
