Dulos was due to appear in court for an emergency hearing regarding his bail, but did not show up.

Police were sent to his home, and saw Dulos sitting in his vehicle in his garage at around noon.

"About 11:54 this morning officers from the Farmington police department were asked to respond to Mr. Dulos' residence for a well-being check because he was late for a court appearance today. When officers responded, they could see through a window that Mr. Dulos was sitting in his vehicle and he had obvious signs of medical distress," said Lt. Tim McKenzie of the Farmington police. "Officers forced entry and immediately began to perform life saving measures."

Footage from the scene showed numerous emergency personnel performing CPR on Dulos.

"Mr. Dulos was alone when officers located him," McKenzie said. "Officers on scene determined that CPR was needed and that's what was performed."

What followed was confusion: Multiple sources told reporters Dulos had died, only to later confirm he had a faint pulse and doctors were trying to save him.

Dulos was rushed to UConn Health for treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning in critical condition. Law enforcement sources said he was later transported by helicopter from UConn Health to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx. The hospital is known for its hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which is used to treat carbon monoxide poisoning.

McKenzie would not confirm whether or not a note was left in the home or if it was officially being considered a suicide attempt. Police are continuing to investigate the scene.

Dulos was due in court in Stamford on an emergency bond revocation hearing. He did not violate the strict terms of his house arrest, but the state was ready to argue the collateral posted was insufficient to secure the bond.

CBS2 has learned the Dulos legal team was in contact with famed New York bondsman Ira Judelson, who was ready to post a new bond for Dulos if necessary.

Another bond hearing is scheduled in Stamford on Wednesday afternoon.

Leaving court, Dulos attorney Kevin Smith was clearly shaken, but said little.

"Folks, there's really nothing to tell you at this point. When we have some information, we'll share it," Smith said.

It's the latest shocking twist in the 250 days since Jennifer Farber Dulos disappeared. The mother of five is presumed dead. Fotis Dulos was arrested earlier this month and is charged with her murder. She disappeared in May after dropping her children at school.
