Some Parts Of Suffolk County Still Digging Out After Winter Storm

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- There was still plenty of cleaning up to do in Suffolk County on Saturday.

Snow totals there were the highest in the area, CBS 2 reported.

Most of the mess had been moved off of roads in towns like Deer Park by Saturday afternoon, but many side streets were still buried under a layer of packed snow.

Drivers who were out on the roads told CBS 2 that it was best to exercise caution.

"Roads were very icy. Very solid conditions. The snow was hard, it was packed down pretty tight. You've got to drive slow," one driver said.

While most roads looked clear many cars still had snow on them.

Snow totals in Suffolk County were roughly 12 inches.
