Police: 4 Teens Charged With Damaging Northport Soccer Fields

NORTHPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Four teens have been arrested for allegedly damaging soccer fields on Long Island earlier this month.

The four 17-year-old boys were behind the wheels of three SUVs and a Mustang when they drove onto and destroyed parts of the Cow Harbor Soccer Fields in Northport on Sept. 11, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

The complex was left covered in tire tracks and ground-up turf. The estimated damage is $10,000, police said.

Tips led to the teens' arrests, Suffolk County police Sgt. James Scimone said.

The teens, who all attend high school in Elwood, are charged with felony criminal mischief.

Nicholas Collins, Eric Lamay, Michael Plackis and Julius Dimino are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
