Police: Snowmobile Tears Up Suffolk County Golf Course

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Authorities in one Long Island town are on the  tracks of a snowmobile operator they believe is responsible for thousands of dollars in damage.

As WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs reports, the damage to the Cherry Creek Golf Links was discovered Sunday.

Riverhead police say the snowmobiler ripped up two putting greens, sand traps, and tee boxes -- resulting in thousands of dollars in damage to the Suffolk County course.

The vandal left behind tracks, and now police are asking anybody with helpful information to come forward.
