Jets, Giants Fans Ready For Snoopy Bowl

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The Jets and Giants are playing Saturday night, which means local bragging rights are on the line.

This is the 48th straight year the teams are playing against each other in what's become known as the Snoopy Bowl now that both teams share MetLife Stadium.

But no matter whose colors you're wearing, big blue or green and white, football is back and that means tailgating in the parking lot and lots of food on the grill.

"We got sausages, chicken, beef," Giants fan Jose Rodriguez told CBS2's Brian Conybeare. "Pretty much everything."

"We had some shrimp scampi before, we had some lobster," said Jets fan Alex Klein.

And while it's only the preseason, both Jets and Giants fans have dreams of making the playoffs this season and they take the annual battle for the Snoopy Bowl trophy very seriously.

"It's New York bragging rights and it's J-E-T-S -- Jets, Jets, Jets!" Klein said. "They're gonna take it home all day long."

The Jets are the home team Saturday and both teams are still looking for their first win of the preseason. The regular season starts Sept. 11.
