WATCH: Snoop Dogg Believes Pete Rose Should Be In Cooperstown

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The 2015 MLB All-Star Game will be played at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati on Tuesday night, and Reds legend Pete Rose will be involved in the on-field ceremonies.

Rose, of course, has long been banned from baseball for gambling and is not in the Hall of Fame despite an illustrious playing career.

The all-time hits leader is hoping to be reinstated by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, though recent reports that the 17-time All-Star bet when he was a player -- as well as a manager -- have hurt his case.


But many believe that, despite the rules he broke, Rose has paid his dues and served his time. After all these years, many contend, it's time to let one of the greatest players ever into Cooperstown.

Rapper and actor Snoop Dogg is in that camp.

"Oh yeah, definitely," the recording artist told CBS Sports when asked if Rose belongs in the Hall. "Charlie Hustle? I grew up loving Pete Rose. He's one of the greatest baseball players to ever do it."
