Former 'Jersey Shore' Star Slams Chris Christie In New Book

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Former "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi brought some unhappy memories of Gov. Chris Christie into the spotlight this week, adding fire to a long-time feud between the politician and former reality television star.

In her new book "Strong Is the New Sexy," Polizzi slams Christie in a retelling of the time she introduced herself on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights in 2013. In a chapter titled "The Governor of New Jersey Tried to Eat Me," Polizzi described Christie's expression as "full of hate" and joked about his size, saying he outweighs her by "a thousand pounds."

Christie, who is now campaigning for the GOP presidential nomination, has repeatedly slammed the "Jersey Shore" reality television series, claiming that the show gave the Garden State a bad image. "Jersey Shore" ran on MTV from 2009-2012 and was mostly filmed in Seaside Heights.

After her stint on "Jersey Shore," Polizzi went on to star in the spin-off series "Snooki and Jwoww," with co-star Jennifer Farley, of Franklin Square.

"Strong Is The New Sexy" is Polizzi's fifth book.
