Democratic Senators Sent Snacks To Their Colleagues During House Gun Control Sit-In

WASHINGTON (CBSNewYork)-- Preparing for a long night on the House floor, Democratic representatives were sent some goodies from their fellow colleagues from the Senate.

Rebellious Democrats shut down the House's legislative work on Wednesday, staging a sit-in on the House floor and refusing to leave until they secured a vote on gun control measures before lawmakers' weeklong break.

The behind-the-scenes list tweeted out shows a list of various snacks and their corresponding contributors. They included Newman's Own, soda, beef jerky, pop-tarts, candy and more.

More than 200 Democrats led by Georgia Rep. John Lewis demanded a vote on measures to expand background checks and block gun purchases by some suspected terrorists in the aftermath of last week's massacre in Orlando, Florida, that killed 49 people in a gay nightclub.

Check out a list of other unusual moments from Wednesday's sit-in here.
