Sienna Poll Shows Turn In Political Tide Just Days Before Election

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Ahead of Tuesday's election, a new Sienna Poll shows a turn in the election.

Long Island Democrat, Congressman Tim Bishop, once enjoyed a 10 percentage point lead over Republican challenger, Lee Zeldin, but is now losing by five points, WCBS 880's Jim Smith reported.

Sienna College pollster Steven Greenberg says there have been blistering attack ads on both sides.

"The campaign has moved forward such that right now, Zeldin has a narrow lead heading into Election Day," he said.

Meanwhile, the GOP on Staten Island is closing ranks with indicted congressman Michael Grimm.

"Republicans in a big way have moved back to Grimm to solidify his date," Greenberg said.

Grimm is expanding a four-point lead to 19 over Democratic challenger Domenic Recchia.
