Shooting Outside East Village Housing Development Leaves Man Wounded

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was shot and wounded Friday evening outside a public housing development in the East Village.

The victim was shot in a vehicle outside the Mariana Bracetti Plaza development at 251 E. 3rd St., in the Alphabet City subsection of the East Village, police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Further details about the shooting were not immediately available.
