Shooting in the Bronx leaves 1 dead, another injured

NYPD: 1 dead, 1 injured after double shooting in the Bronx

NEW YORK - One man is dead and another has been hospitalized after a shooting in the Bronx. 

It happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of 187th Street and Hughes Avenue in the Belmont section.

Police say one of the victims, a 21-year-old man, was shot twice in the chest. EMS rushed him to a local hospital, where he died.

The second victim, a 22-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive.

So far, there have been no arrests in the case.
