'Sesame Street Live' Brings A New Friend To Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It may not have been sunny outside Sunday morning, but it was a sunny day inside the CBS2 studios.

Elmo and Grover from "Sesame Street" stopped by to promote their live show "Sesame Street Live: Make a New Friend," which is running through March 1 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The lovable characters also performed for children in the studio.

"We're making a new friend," said Jenna Lorson of "Sesame Street Live." "Her name is Chamki. It is Grover's friend from India. So through song and dance, we get to learn all about Chamki. She teaches us some cultural aspects about India, the language, the clothing, some food she might eat. So we have a great time on that stage."

Lorson said the show is great for kids of any age.

"'Sesame Street' is timeless," she said. "So grandparents, parents, kids -- we can all relate to the show, to the characters and have fun with them as well."
