Subway service restored after water main break

NEW YORK -- Subway service in Midtown is back to normal Saturday after a water main break caused major delays and traffic.

Water spilled into the Times Square station after the rupture Friday at around 4:30 p.m. on Seventh Avenue between 37th and 36th streets.

Crews were able to isolate the leak without interrupting water service.

Southbound 1 trains were suspended and there were delays in both directions for the 1, 2 and 3 trains.

Repairs to the water main were ongoing Saturday.
