Search On For Upper East Side Bank Robbery Suspect

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a bank on the Upper East Side, but walked away empty-handed.

Around 6:05 p.m. this past Thursday, the suspect walked into the Citibank branch at 1275 Madison Ave., at 91st Street, and handed a bank employee a note, police said.

The employee refused to give the man anything, and he left, police said.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-30s standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts, black sneakers, and a black baseball cap.

Police have released multiple surveillance images of the suspect.
