Search On For Suspect Who Shot Man In Foot In Washington Heights

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were asking for help in finding a suspect who allegedly shot a man in the foot, and a woman who allegedly ran off with the suspect, in Washington Heights last month.

Around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, the suspect walked up to a 25-year-old man at 163rd Street and St. Nicholas Avenue and they got into a physical fight, police said.

The suspect then took out a handgun and shot the victim in the foot before running off, police said.

The suspect ran south with an unidentified woman, heading south on St. Nicholas Avenue from 163rd Street, police said.

The victim was taken to NewYork Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center, where his condition was reported as stable.

Police were searching for the suspect, and the woman was also wanted for questioning.
