Search On For Suspect In Attempted Rape In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Saturday for a suspect in an attempted rape near the Jerome Park reservoir in the Bronx.

Around 5:20 a.m. Saturday, a 42-year-old woman was walking near 197th Street and Claflin Avenue when the suspect came up from behind and grabbed her, police said.

The suspect then pushed the woman between two parked cars and demanded she follow him to another location, police said.

The suspect ran off when the victim began screaming at passersby for help, police said. The woman was not injured.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and a mustache.

Police have released surveillance video.
