Search Is On For Man Wanted In Connection With East Village Assault

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an assault that took place in the East Village.

At shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, a man was walking on East 6th Street when he was approached by an unknown black male. The suspect started yelling at the victim before grabbing him and pushing him up against a wall, police said.

The victim fell to the ground and the suspect began punching and kicking him in the head. He was later taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
