Search Continues For Teen Suspect Wanted In Attack Of Woman On Train In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police continue to search for a teenage girl wanted in connection with the vicious attack of a woman on a subway train in Brooklyn two months ago.

The incident occurred on Oct. 30 as a Manhattan-bound train was pulling up to the Prospect Park subway station on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, CBS2's Dave Carlin reported.

The suspect, who police believe is 16 to 18 years old, repeatedly punched a 38-year-old woman on the train, Carlin reported.

The victim ended up hospitalized with injuries to her head and face.

Police released two pictures of the suspect carrying a black and white striped bag.

Passengers are hoping the photos will help the investigation.

"Good cameras and all, they're going to catch her one day," one man said.

"Maybe from school somebody might know her," a woman said.

The motive in the attack remains unclear.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
