LITTLE RIVER, S.C. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The body of an autistic 4-year-old boy from Westchester County who had been missing since Christmas Eve has been found in South Carolina.

Coroner Robert Edge told local media outlets that the body of Jayden Morrison was found in a pond in Little River on Friday morning.

The White Plains boy went missing while his grandmother was watching him as his mom shopped for presents.

Police, first responders, K9 units, dive teams and others had been searching the area near the North Carolina state line Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Volunteers rejoined the effort Friday morning.

A helicopter with the State Law Enforcement Division had also assisted with the search for the boy.
