Police: Wrong-Way Driver Collides With Car On Saw Mill River Parkway In Chappaqua

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two people were injured in a wrong-way crash early Friday morning on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Chappaqua, police said.

It happened shortly after 1 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the exit for Route 120. Police said the driver of a car was headed south in the northbound lanes when she collided with another car.

The Journal News reports that the other driver had to be cut out of the car and transported to a hospital. The wrong-way driver also was injured. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known.

The wrong-way driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police said.

The northbound side of parkway remained closed through the morning rush, but has since reopened.
