Sandra Lindsay, Nurse Who Received First COVID Vaccine, To Be Grand Marshal Of Hometown Heroes Parade

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- We now know who will be the grand marshal at next week's Hometown Heroes Parade in Manhattan.

Mayor Bill de Blasio announced it will be Sandra Lindsay, the nurse from Queens who became the first person in the U.S. to receive the COVID vaccine.

The ticker tape parade up the Canyon of Heroes will honor the city's frontline workers.

Tune to CBS2 and CBSN New York for all-day coverage of the parade starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7.
