Roxbury Township Couple's Death Ruled A Murder-Suicide

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Authorities in Morris County have officially classified the death of a couple in Roxbury Township as a murder-suicide.

Forty-eight-year-old Cheryl DeSombre and her 65-year-old husband, Jay DeSombre, were found around 6 p.m. Monday in their home after officers responded to reports of shots fired.

Both victims were found inside the home, police said.

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said Thursday that the county's medical examiner determined that Cheryl DeSombre's manner of death was homicide by gunshot and Jay DeSombre's manner of death was suicide caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
