Suffolk County SPCA: 3 Kittens Found Decapitated In Ronkonkoma

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (CBSNewYokr/AP) -- Authorities on eastern Long Island are investigating the deaths of three kittens.

The Suffolk County SPCA says the kittens were found decapitated in an industrial area of Ronkonkoma.

SPCA Chief Roy Gross says the kittens were found on Wednesday by a woman who cares for feral cat colonies.

The kittens were estimated to be about five days old. They were lined up next to each other and found near Fifth Avenue in Ronkonkoma. Gross calls it a "vicious, heinous act of animal cruelty."

"The heads are missing, we don't even have the heads," Gross told 1010 WINS.

He is urging anyone with information to contact the SPCA at (631) 382-7722. All calls are kept confidential.
