Roger Clemens Returns To Baseball At 53

By Rahul Lal

It looks like fans will get a chance to watch Roger Clemens return to the mound again at the age of 53... Just not in the MLB.

Clemens will be joined by a very nostalgic group of players organized by Adam LaRoche and Nate Robertson to compete in this summer's National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas.

Usually, the National Baseball Congress World Series is a tournament that is highlighted by college baseball summer teams but will take a new approach this year by pitting a college team against group of veterans (really, really veteran).

Among the players participating in addition to Clemens, LaRache and Robertson are Tim Hudson, J.D. Drew, Dan Uggla, Roy Oswalt, Rick Ankiel, Brad Penny, Ben Sheets and Josh Beckett among others.

There is only one player younger than 30 on this roster and that's Koby Clemens, 29, son of the older Clemens.

For anybody looking to get a chance to feel nostalgic about some memorable players, they will debut on Aug. 6 in Wichita Kansas.

Rahul Lal is an LA native stuck in a lifelong, love-hate relationship with the Lakers, Dodgers and Raiders. You can follow him on Twitter here.
