Teen Accused Of Spray-Painting Swastikas In Rocky Point, Long Island

ROCKY POINT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A teen was arrested on Long Island Friday and charged with spray-painting swastikas onto two pieces of property in Rocky Point.

Suffolk County police Seventh Precinct patrol officers were called around 9:40 a.m. Friday, after someone discovered graffiti on a motor vehicle and a Bobcat utility vehicle on Clio Road, police said.

Police also found more graffiti on the surrounding areas, including swastikas, police said.

Hate crimes detectives launched an investigation, and identified Christopher Collins, 18, of Rocky Point, as the perpetrator, police said. He was arrested around 1:50 p.m.

Collins was accused of spray-painting swastikas on a house and a retaining wall on Garden Road in Rocky Point, and spray-painting graffiti on a house on Locust Drive and street signs on Locust Drive and Clio Road, police said.

He was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated harassment and one count of making graffiti.
