Rockland County Officials Hoping They Have Enough Salt To Last Through Winter
NEW CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Officials in Rockland County are gearing up for another round of snow.
The latest forecast shows the possibility of more snow falling Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday.

Skip Vezzetti, Rockland's superintendent of highways, said this winter seems to be falling in line with recent years, when the county has spent $300,000 to $400,000 for salt and other melting supplies.
"We use about 500 tons of salt for an average storm every time we go out," he told WCBS 880's Paul Murnane.
Clarkstown Superintendent of Highways Wayne Ballard said the town has gone through 70 percent of the season's salt supply.
"It's comparable to last winter, but the scary part is we're not done yet," Ballard said.
There is enough salt on hand for a few more storms, and more is on the way.
