Robert Redford Sues New York State In Dispute Over Tax Bill

ALBANY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Robert Redford has brought some Hollywood-style drama to the New York State Department of Taxation.

The actor and director has decided to sue over a $1.6 million tax bill, CBS 2 reported Thursday night.

A little more than half the bill is for profits made when Redford sold his part of the Sundance Channel, which is based in New York.

The rest of the bill is interest.

Redford said he has already paid the appropriate taxes in Utah, where he lives.
