Police: Driver Crashed Car On Pedestrian Path In Riverside Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Tuesday were looking for the driver who crashed a car on a pedestrian path in Riverside Park.

The car slammed into a retaining wall at West 72nd Street, police told CBS2.

Police said officers first spotted the vehicle rolling erratically on West End Avenue at 101st Street.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away on the Henry Hudson Parkway and officers followed, police said.

After the crash, the driver ran away, leaving his injured passenger behind, police said.

No one else was hurt.
