Reward Offered For Information In Brutal Attack On Yonkers Livery Cab Driver

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A reward has been offered for information in an attack on a livery cab driver in Yonkers.

At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, in the parking lot at 984 North Broadway in Yonkers, the suspect attempted to rob the driver. During the course of the robbery the suspect slashed the driver in the neck and stole his cab.

The man was found by a co-worker running down the street, bleeding, and holding his beck.

The victim was in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.

On Thursday night, friends and family of the victim gathered with dozens of drivers in front of the Family Car Service in Yonkers.

"We are constantly being attacked and we will fight back every single time. Together we will expose those who prey on use and get them off the streets," said New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers founder, Fernando Mateo.

No arrests have been made. The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers has offered a $3,000 reward for information.
