Reports: Katy Perry Tabbed For Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Katy Perry will headline this season's Super Bowl halftime show, according to multiple reports.

The 29-year-old pop star was reportedly in the mix with two other finalists: Coldplay and Rihanna. She'll follow the high-energy acts of Beyonce in 2013 and Bruno Mars -- with some help from the Red Hot Chili Peppers -- this past February.

The Wall Street Journal reported in August that the league was looking for potential performers to pay for coveted slot.

"I'm not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl," Perry said Saturday during an appearance on ESPN's college football pregame show.

The NFL hasn't made an official announcement.

Super Bowl XLIX is scheduled for Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
