Report: Sea Levels, Temperatures On The Rise In New York

NEW YORK (AP) -- A new climate report is finding that temperatures and sea levels are rising in New York City.

Mayor Bill de Blasio's office released the New York City Panel on Climate Change's 2015 report on Tuesday.

The reports said that annual temperatures are projected to rise between 4.1 and 5.7 degrees by the 2050s.

The sea level is projected to rise 11 to 21 inches by the same period.

And annual precipitation is expected to increase by up to 11 percent by then.

The report also suggests that extreme weather may become more common due to climate change.

The de Blasio administration is continuing efforts to make the city's shoreline more resilient.

And the mayor has vowed to cut greenhouse gas emissions from city buildings 80 percent by 2015.
