Report: If Jets Hire Quinn He Will Try To Bring In Shanahan As Offensive Coordinator
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- By all accounts, Dan Quinn is one of, if not the most, impressive head coaching candidates available.
It appears he also has a plan.
According to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole, if the Jets end up hiring the Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator to replace the fired Rex Ryan, he already knows who he wants as his offensive coordinator.
Kyle Shanahan, son of Super Bowl-winning head coach Mike Shanahan.

Kyle Shanahan is available because he reportedly parted ways with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday after just one season. His previous coaching experience includes offensive coordinator jobs with the Houston Texans (2008-09) and Washington Redskins (2010-13).

Quinn appears to be the front-runner for the Jets' job, but cannot receive an offer until after the Seahawks are eliminated from the playoffs -- and considering Seattle is the defending Super Bowl champion and this year's top seed in the NFC, it might be a while before the Jets get to talk to him again.
A native of Morristown, New Jersey, Quinn is considered a defensive guru, but someone who would have little trouble overseeing all aspects of a team, an issue that plagued Ryan during his six years with the Jets.
While Quinn is highly thought of, so are some of the Jets' other candidates, including Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles and San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Frank Reich, who have also been interviewed.
Earlier Thursday, the Jets announced that they had invited Houston Texans director of college scouting Mike Maccagnan back for a second interview for their open general manager job.
Former GM John Idzik and Ryan were fired on Dec. 29, the day after the Jets completed a brutal 4-12 season.
