Report: Authorities Investigate Threat Against West Islip High School

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities are investigating a second threat this week against a Long Island high school.

Suffolk County police conducted a search of West Islip High School on Thursday after a threat was posted on a social media website.

Newsday reports that no evidence of a threat was found.

Police say a threat the school received Monday turned out not to be credible.

A threat against another school in Mount Sinai led to the arrest of a 15-year-old student on Monday.

Police say an online threat was posted against the school via a social media app. It allegedly said there would be a shooting at Mount Sinai High School on Tuesday followed by a bombing.

The teen was charged as a juvenile with making a terrorist threat.
