After Losing Bet, Rep. Adam Schiff Sings 'Meet The Mets' On The House Floor

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Victory is sweet.

A friendly wager on the National League Championship Series was settled on the House floor Friday.

Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) represents the areas surrounding Citi Field. His colleague, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) represents the areas surrounding Dodger Stadium.

The two bet each other on the outcome of the Mets-Dodgers series. Israel wagered fresh bagels. Schiff wagered gourmet popcorn. The loser also had to wear the tie of the winner's team and deliver a one minute speech on the House floor extolling the virtues of the winning team.

Schiff lived up to his part of the bargain Friday. As part of his speech, he sang "Meet the Mets."
