Authorities: Man Dies After Falling Into Raritan Bay During Fishing Trip
PERTH AMBOY, N.J. (CNSNewYork/AP) -- Authorities say a man fishing with his brother at a marina was killed when he fell into the Raritan Bay.
But it's not clear how the man ended up in the water shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.
Perth Amboy police say the 56-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after police arrived. His 47-year-old brother jumped in the water in a bid to rescue his him.
His brother was treated for hypothermia, CBS2 reported.
The brothers had been fishing at the Harborside Marina when the accident occurred. Marine units pulled them from the water.
The names of the two men have not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
