As part of our weekly rankings of the best local athletes in history by uniform/jersey number, we unveil 69-60.
69. Rich Seubert, Giants
He helped the Giants win a Super Bowl in 2007, and played for the team his entire career.
Runner-up: Jason Fabini, Jets
68. Kevin Mawae, Jets
It's hard to turn down Jaromir Jagr, who was phenomenal as a Ranger and is still turning heads in New Jersey, but Mawae was a Pro Bowler in six of his eight years with the Jets. He was a phenomenal center.
Runner-up: Jaromir Jagr, Rangers/Devils
67. Dave Herman, Jets
He won a Super Bowl with the Jets in 1968 and went to two Pro Bowls.
Runner-up: Kareem McKenzie, Giants/Jets
66. David Diehl, Giants
Another close call, but Diehl gets the nod for the role he played on two Super Bowl-winning teams.
Runner-up: Jack Stroud, Giants
65. Bart Oates, Giants
He helped the Giants win Super Bowls in 1986 and 1990, and had three Pro Bowl years for Big Blue.
Runner-up: Joe Fields, Jets
64. Jim Burt, Giants
The nose tackle won a Super Bowl and went to the Pro Bowl in 1986.
Runner-up: John Mendenhall, Giants
63. Karl Nelson, Giants
Speaking of the '86 championship team, Nelson was a major part of the Giants' offensive line that season.
Runner-up: Dewayne Robertson. Jets
62. Darrell Dess, Giants
The guard was a Pro Bowler in back-to-back seasons (1962, 1963).
Runner-up: Al Atkinson, Jets
61. Rick Nash, Rangers
There's not much to choose from here, though if Nash played anything like he did in Columbus he'd easily be the favorite. His performance as a Ranger aside, Nash has accomplished more in his career than anyone else to wear No. 61 in this town.
Runner-up: Chris Godfrey, Giants
60. Larry Grantham, Jets
It's close, but Grantham gets the nod because of his five Pro Bowl appearances. He also helped the Jets win a Super Bowl in 1968.
Runner-up: Shaun O'Hara, Giants
