Rangers' McDonagh Declares Himself Ready To Return

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh says he's ready to return to action after missing the past four games with a concussion.

The defenseman has been cleared for contact and practiced fully with the team Tuesday morning in Greenburgh.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault wants to wait until Wednesday morning before officially deciding whether McDonagh will suit up that night when the Blueshirts host the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks.

"Everything that I've seen so far, he looks fine," Vigneault said, according to the New York Post. "So we'll see how he responds."

McDonagh suffered the concussion Feb. 6 when he was punched in the face by Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds. The Rangers (32-18-6) have won three of four without McDonagh.

McDonagh has registered seven goals and 19 assists and has a plus-13 rating this season.
