Rangers Avoid Arbitration With Chris Kreider, Agree To 2-Year Deal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Rangers and Chris Kreider have avoided arbitration, with the two parties agreeing to a two-year deal.

According to multiple reports, the 23-year-old winger will earn an average of $2.475 million per season. He'll make $2.35 million this upcoming season and $2.6 million in 2015-16.

In his sophomore season, the Boston College product scored 17 goals and added 20 assists (37 points) in 66 regular-season games. He had six power-play goals and six power-play assists.

The former first-round pick was also a force in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, registering five goals and eight assists (13 points) -- including a game-winning goal -- in 15 postseason games.

On Tuesday, the Rangers avoided arbitration with another of their star players. The team agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million contract with restricted free-agent forward Mats Zuccarello.
