Rangers Acquire Goalie Raanta From Blackhawks; Talbot, Hagelin Traded

SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — The New York Rangers have acquired goaltender Antti Raanta in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks for forward Ryan Haggerty.

The Rangers also traded Cam Talbot to Edmonton on Saturday, leaving an opening at goaltender behind Henrik Lundqvist. The 26-year-old Raanta was 7-4-1 with a .936 save percentage and 1.89 goals-against average in 14 games for the Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks last season.

Haggerty, 22, had 15 goals and 18 assists last season with Hartford in the American Hockey League.

Raanta is 20-9-5 in 39 career games, all with the Blackhawks. He made his NHL debut in 2013.

Along with Talbot, the Rangers traded Carl Hagelin to the Anaheim Ducks as part of larger deal that also included Emerson Etem.
