See It: Ramapo Police Officer Helps Rescue Raccoon With Head Stuck In Can

POMONA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A police officer made a unique rescue in Rockland County on Sunday.

Video shows a Ramapo officer chasing down a racoon that somehow got a can stuck on its head.

Today, PO Byrnes got sent to a residence in Pomona, where the homeowner reported having a raccoon with a can stuck on its head in the yard. As you can see, the can was really stuck! Thanks to PO Byrnes' persistence and love of animals (and maybe a bit fearless ????) he was able to remove the can!

Police say a homeowner in Pomona called police when they noticed the animal in trouble in their yard.

It took a couple minutes, but the officer was eventually able to get the can off and set the little guy free.
