Police: Driver Fled Scene After Head-On Crash With Coach Bus In Ramapo

RAMAPO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Ramapo police are searching for a driver who they said fled the scene after a head-on collision with a coach bus early Monday morning.

The empty bus and SUV crashed around 2:45 a.m. on Route 45 north of Williams Avenue.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries, but police said the driver of the SUV took off before officers arrived.

The SUV driver is still unaccounted for and authorities are concerned that he or she may be seriously hurt. Several agencies, including the Rockland County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police and others, are now working to help find the driver.

The crash closed Williams Avenue and Tioken Road for several hours, but it has since reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
