NYC, NJ Bombing Suspect To Be Arraigned On Police Shootout Charges

ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Ahmad Khan Rahami, the man accused of planting bombs in New York and New Jersey, will be arraigned Thursday on charges stemming a shootout with Linden police.

He is scheduled to be arraigned via video from his hospital bed, according to prosecutors.

 

The Afghan-born U.S. citizen has been hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a police shootout that led to his capture on Sept. 19 outside a bar in Linden.

He's charged with five counts of attempted murder of a police officer.

Rahami is also accused of detonating a pipe bomb in a Seaside Park and a pressure cooker bomb in Chelsea on Sept. 17, injuring 31 people.
