Radio Free Montone: Remembering Letterman With One Of His Guys

By John Montone, 1010 WINS

After 33 years and 6,028 broadcasts, David Letterman signed off Wednesday night as the longest reigning late night host in television history.

1010 WINS' John Montone spoke with longtime "Late Show" announcer Alan Kalter this week about what it's been like working with Letterman for two decades.

Kalter described Letterman as a "very complex human being, a perfectionist, a funnyman."

"He's every man and he sets the chemistry that we've all lived by for these years," Kalter said, adding Letterman is the man we can trust.
